  Draughts : the official rule of the game to get started

  1. The goal of the game is to take it or to block all the opponent's pieces.
  2. The word "piece" means either a man or a king.
  3. The international Draughts is played on a draughtboard of 100 squares.
  4. The lower left corner of the draughtboard must be a dark square.
  5. Each player places 20 men on the first 4 rows of dark squares of the draughtboard.
  6. The player with the white men begins the game.
  7. The man moves diagonally, only forwards, on one free square at a time.
  8. A man becomes a king when it reaches, and immobilizing there, a square at the last row of the opponent.
  9. The king moves backward or forward on successive free squares of its diagonal.
10. The man and the king are obligated to capture forward or backward.
11. There is capture when a piece touches an opponent’s piece followed by a free square.
12. The man jumps over the piece to take, comes on the empty square, the piece is then removed from the draughtboard.
13. There must be a free square after each piece to take, when you make a multiple capture with a man.
14. The man arises then on the free square immediately after the last captured piece.
15. The king takes any piece remotely followed by one or more free squares.
16. In its course, the king changes diagonally to take other pieces that are captured.
17. The king arose, after the last captured piece, on the free square of their choice.
18. If  multiple capture, you have to take the side where is the greatest number of pieces.
19. It is forbidden, in the course of capture, to pass over the same piece more than once.
20. We may only remove pieces at the end of the full capture, and in the same order as the capture.
21. A piece touched is a piece played, even if the move is lost.
22. A move played is the definitive acceptance of the last move of the opponent, even if there was a fault.
23. You can never pass your turn to play. He who can no longer play loses the game.
24. A piece against 3, against 2, against 1; with a king on each side, is “game draw” (1-1).
25. The game is draw (1-1) if the same position is played three times, consecutively or not.
